Welcome! We're glad you're here. Here's a little background about Jim's Ride, originally called The Pastor Jim Keegan Memorial Ride. We held our first ride on Saturday, June 3, 2023, which coincided with World Cycle Day. Since then, we've moved the ride to April, finally settling on the last Saturday of April each year.

Why do we do this? In memory of Jim Keegan, a husband, father, friend, and pastor who loved to bicycle. He began riding again as an adult when he requested a mountain bike for his 30th birthday. That led to over three decades of mountain and road cycling. He enjoyed pushing himself and rode countless century rides. He assisted others in learning to ride, helping them find the right bike and the right equipment. He volunteered as a marshal at cycling events, helped develop the cycling map for the City of Charlotte, NC, and provided sag support for a professional cyclist who broke the west-east NC record.

To say that Jim loved cycling was an understatement. It was a way for him to enjoy the physicality of cycling, connect with nature, spend time with other riders, and make friends.

We hope you will join us on Jim's Ride, spending the day with friends or riding alone and clearing your head. We use this event to give money back into the communities of Inverness, Leesburg, and Fruitland Park. Ride your ride!
